This trick I learned may make your life easier...
I find it easier to do dewey searches in B&T than trying to figure out their weird subject headings.
There is a way to use truncation to get a better dewey search....
Ex: 641.* will get you all the cookbooks that are 641 and 641.x, etc where using just "641" in a search is limiting to just 641.
Ex: 68* will get 680-689.999
I hope this hint is helpful to others.

Paperbacks Will Float
This is a notice from Diana Morales of COMS that beginning Sunday, March 15, 2009, HPL will begin to “float” the CEN Uncatalogued Paperback Collection.
"The general idea is that materials are housed wherever our customers drop them off. Thus, if Customer X borrows an uncatalogued paperback at Central, and returns it to Jungman, then Jungman becomes the new owning location for that item. The important thing is that it becomes “owned” by whatever location checks it in. You MUST check returned items in for them to reflect your location. The change in the owning location will be instantaneous; you do not need to change the code--the system will change it. Rather than returning the item to the lending branch, you may shelve and use it at your branch. Due to issues with the III system, no other Central materials will float for the time being. Central items other than the uncatalogued paperbacks will go back in transit to Central."
